Privacy Policy
Data we collect
Coupon Navigator (hereafter "the app") collects the following. For location, see the "Location" section below:
- Device identifier and advertising ID (used for ad delivery and crash reporting only)
- OS version and device model (anonymous, for compatibility statistics)
- In-app interaction logs (anonymous, for product improvement)
In normal use, we do not collect personally identifying information such as your name or phone number. However, in the optional "Feedback" feature, an email address and the body of your message are sent only if you choose to enter them (see "Third-party services"). Favorites and notification settings are stored only on your device.
Location
To find stores near you in "Nearby stores map", both the iOS and Android versions ask for location permission only while the app is in use. Granting it is optional; if you decline, the map and store search still work (the map simply will not recentre on your location).
Your location is used only on your device, to centre the map and to narrow the bundled store database to the area shown. All of this happens on your device, so your location is never sent to our servers and never shared with advertising providers. Note that the map itself is drawn by Apple Maps (MapKit) on iOS and Google Maps on Android, so the map region currently displayed is sent to those providers.
Separately, for ad delivery, the ad SDKs receive your IP address as part of normal network traffic. An IP address may be used to estimate a coarse region, but the precise location described above is never passed to advertising providers.
Third-party services
The app uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob (banner and interstitial ad delivery)
- Meta Audience Network (Meta Platforms, Inc.): used for ad delivery through AdMob mediation. Your advertising identifier (IDFA / Advertising ID) is shared with Meta only within the consent obtained through App Tracking Transparency on iOS and Google UMP on Android.
- Apple MapKit (iOS) / Google Maps (Android): used to draw the map in "Nearby stores map". Fetching map tiles sends the currently displayed map region to those providers.
- Apple Push Notification Service / Firebase Cloud Messaging (device token only, for push delivery)
- Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics (anonymous analytics and crash reporting)
- Google Forms (Google LLC): when you submit the in-app "Feedback" form, the body of your message and any contact email address you choose to provide are sent, along with device information (model, OS version), the app version, purchase status, and language setting for diagnostic context. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and to improve quality; it is never used for advertising.
Data handled by these services is governed by each provider's own privacy policy.
Coupon information handling
The app displays coupons sourced from each brand's official app. Actual redemption happens in the destination brand app, and personal data handling there is governed by that brand's privacy policy.
